So who does what at Performers Stage School ? Meet the  Team...

 

   

 

    

David has a varied and diverse Entertainment background having worked in theatre as a Performer, Writer, Choreographer and Producer. On TV he has appeared on many local and national programmes including Top of The Pops, This Morning, GMTV,  SMtv Live! and The National Lottery.  As a TV Presenter David has been seen guest presenting on Cable TV for MTV and The Disney Channel. He has worked extensively in cabaret as a Performer and Choreographer.

David was part of the pop foursome SCOOCH  in the late 1990's.

SCOOCH released four singles and their debut album 'Four Sure' in the UK through EMI Records, as well as their Japanese album 'Welcome to the Planet Pop'.

SCOOCH have had worldwide chart success and performed at every Arena in the UK and spent a year as Ambassadors for the Children's Health Authority.

After a 7 year break SCOOCH re-formed especially for, and won, the UK Eurovision selection programme 'Making Your Mind Up' to represent the country in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki, Finland with their No.5 hit single 'Flying The Flag (For You).

In 2001 along side his friend and colleague Suzanne Richardson, David staged a series of 3 concerts to raise money and awareness for the Children's Charity the NSPCC.  The productions featured over 200 talented youngsters from across the region and raised over £12,000 by the final production at the Empire Theatre, Sunderland.  The concerts lead to Performers Stage School opening at Boldon CA in September that year and the Monkwearmouth School class opening the year after.  

In 2004 David, Shelley and Suzanne  launched  'A Cut Above Productions' working with adults to stage concerts, musicals and plays.  The group will present a production of 'Steel Magnolias' in Autumn 2008.

Since starting the school David has enjoyed working with pupils on the over 16 productions.  He is extremely committed to the school's success and enjoys the opportunity of working with so many gifted and enthusiastic young Performers.  . 

 

 

 

 

      

 

 

 

        

Shelley began her Dance Training at the Valerie Shepherd Dance Academy, studying Tap, Modern and Disco and Ballet with Kathleen Burden.  Winning many competitions, Shelley represented the North east at the Miss Great Britain finals and has also won the International Senior Tap Scholarship with The Stage Dance Council.  Shelley is a qualified Dance Teacher and has a BA Hons Degree in Performing Arts Studies. 

In 2001 She appeared in Tyne Tees ‘Red Hot Dance’ competing with over 200 others to become one of the five to dance at the opening night of El Divinos, in Ibiza.

Shelley has a wealth of stage performance taking many lead roles in local productions and has worked for KG Productions Boyle Yer Stotts Theatre Company.  She has taken lead roles in 'Oliver!', 'Andy Capp' and  'Cabaret' with SSAOS.

Shelley currently teaches full time at a local primary school.

Shelley has choreographed every Performers Stage School production to date and is a valued member of the Team.  

 

 

 

 

Stacey is multi-talented performer.  Not only does she sing, dance and act but also plays a number of musical instruments.  Her many abilities have allowed her to perform  at venues across the North East and UK, including the prestigious The Sage Gateshead, considered home of music for the North East.

As a musician Stacey is heavily committed to her love of Brass Bands, and has won many local and national competitions.

Stacey gained her HND in Musical Theatre at Newcastle College's Performance Academy and went on to gain a degree in Music & Performance at University of Sunderland.

Stacey teaches full time at a number of schools and specialises in Secondary Music.

Stacey joined the Performers Stage School Team in 2006 and continues to enjoy assisting pupils in their musical experience.
